Additional information: "(Typus: ♀ Syria leg. Ehrenberg; ♂ Brussa). Typen: ♂ ♀ in coll. Zool. Mus. Berlin." (Bryk, 1934: 71). "Il suffit pour cela de déterminer le lectotype de speciosa. [...] "Par contre Bryk (1934 : 71) fixe comme lectotype la ♀ de Syrie." (Bernardi 1970: 58). "Verbleib unbekannt; im ZMHB nicht gefunden." (Hesselbarth et al., 1995: 248).

Taxonomic history

Originally described as Zerynthia cerisyi Godart Subspezies speciosa Stichel, 1907
Treated as a subspecies of Allancastria cerisyi (Godart, 1822) by Bernardi (1970: 62), and by Kuhna (1977: 103). Treated as a subspecies of Alancastria [sic!] cerisyi Godard by Eisner (1979: 283). Treated as a synonym of Zerynthia (Allancastria) cerisy cerisy (Godart, [1824]) by Hesselbarth et al. (1995: 248).

Remarks
