Originally described as Parnassius glacialis Butler, 1866
Treated as a species of Parnassius Latreille, 1805 by Kirby (1871: 514). Treated as a species of Parnassius Latr. by Elwes (1886: 19). Treated as a synonym of Parnassius stubbendorfii citrinarius Motsch. by Stichel (1907: 21). Treated as a subspecies of Parnassius stubbendorfi Ménétriés by Bang-Haas (1927: 6). Considered as a species of Parnassius by Hering (1935: 1). Treated as a species of Parnassius Latreille, 1804 by Ackery (1975: 84), Hancock (1983: 46), and Fujioka et al. (1997: 142). Treated as a species of Parnassius Latreille, 1804 (Driopa Korshunov, 1988) by Häuser (1993: 138).
